@Mark Postle: I think the Q&A would also be a nice thing to record, even after the hour. As it is a recording, it mostly doesn’t matter how long it is.

Is the link to the second video working for you? I get an unauthorized and would like to have it on my iPad to watch while on a train.
Tobias on October 7, 2022 at 2:38 am · in reply to: Swapping Chamfit in the Basic Plan or adding General Strenght #71378Thanks for the info, I normally recover well, so I would swap one. What would you think of progression? I would think just always doing the same amount from the start 12 weeks long and just increasing weight once in a while wouldn’t be ideal.
You should connect your Garmin account with TrainingPeaks, then the activities get uploaded there, and the test can be evaluated fast and easy in TrainingPeaks.
There is a video how to evaluate here for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emT6Re_d9dM
Hi,
I’m Tobias (33) and I’m based in Darmstadt near Frankfurt (am Main) in Germany.
So, a couple of hours to the alps. Day tours in the Andermatt region are doable but stressful, but I have a friend in Zurich, so there is a good base for that :). Before covid (in 2019) hat 19 weekends in the Swiss alps with the friend based in Zurich. We have plans in Chamonix next summer and want to tackle some of the more remote climbs described in a classic book about alpine routes “Im extremen Fels” originally by Walter Pause. A collection of 100 tours.
Unfortunately, my long answer didn’t show up when posting … here is a shorter version…
As eddie mentioned, the selftest I took the MAF as a starting point for the drift test. After I had a good number for AeT I used the calculator (https://uphillathlete.com/aerobic-training/uphill-athlete-training-zones-heart-rate-calculator/) to get the zones and mapped the recovery zone as Garmin Z1 to work with Garmin 5 zones.
For TP I just created the zones according to the calculator as well and put in the numbers from the calculator and stripped away the unnecessary zones. So, things I took from Garmin: MaxHF and (Anaerobic Threshold)
Tobias on September 18, 2022 at 5:34 pm · in reply to: Where can I find the Strength/Core workouts? #70855In the book training for the new alpinism the core routine is described, and the general strength exercises are described as well. I cannot tell you where, as I use the kindle version, but the pictures should be easy to find when scrolling through 🙂
Tobias on September 18, 2022 at 1:11 pm · in reply to: Where can I find the Strength/Core workouts? #70843Have a look into the attachments of the first few workouts in the plan or notes. That was the place where I could find the PDFs for it, at least in the alpine plans it is like that.
For the CMF, I was able to like all the videos on the website and then put them into the offline playlist on my iPad. Worked for the Yoga as well.
The stuff I cannot get offline are Strength training videos which are included on the webpage as Vimeo “showcase”, a bit of a shame as these would be the really interesting ones for me.
Hi,
I would love to have a longer rock alpine plan.
I find the transition from rock to ice tools easy, so that’s why I think it would be a nice all year round training plan basis.Or is there maybe a way to easily adapt the Eiger Plan and Swap training X with Y?
Best
