focus on becoming.
Training is all about who you are and who you will be as an athlete.
I did not expect this from the coaching relationship, but am better for it, and deeply value the wisdom, critique, and friendship that comes from someone deeply knowledgeable about not only training, but life generally, who has my back through the many, many ups and downs of life and sport.
My performance/fitness is better than it has ever been in the last 15 years of my life.
I love high intensity training and need help focusing on recovery. It works for me to have a tough loving technically savvy coach who knows my personality as an athlete.
Training with Mark helps me prepare mostly indoors so that when I get to travel to do the things I love, I can accomplish as much as possible and have more fun doing it as I’m prepared!

I really like structure. Sometimes I get lost in how to program for training, and the Uphill Athlete team has made the process really clear through the Training Peaks platform. I now use Training Peaks to input all my training...best planning tool I've used so far!
I loved that the training plan began with stability and strength assessments, as well as a method to establish my heart rate zones. The plan was well-structured and clearly a lot of thought was put into the content based on the comments for each day. The muscular endurance workouts were incredible, my legs have never felt so sore and these workouts really make the difference!
This program gave me the training program I needed to climb harder and accomplish some lofty personal goals. I used to do a bunch of random workouts I thought were helping me. They weren't. Doing Josh's program taught me a lot about what what works. it's the real deal.
The training is easy to understand and very well thought out. All my movements were precise and I was capable of climbing all day long for days straight. The following year I did not use the training plan to get ready for ice season and the results were very depressing. I was tired way sooner and most moves felt far harder than they did the year previous! This is a solid reminder that training is paramount when it comes to climbing hard!
I think this is one of the best training products I have come across in any sports field, covering aspects of mental management, physical training as well as the science behind the training.
