Hello Nicole,

I would be happy to move you up, but I am worried about having you jump in halfway through as far as progression goes. I would keep adding aerobic volume and stick with this plan and work through the ME workouts as the plan is about to get much harder. If this goes well, I would then go to the Advanced Plan. If you feel like you can handle jumping directly into advanced now, I can make that change. I just wanted to give you my concerns first 🙂

Hello Gina,

I am so sorry to hear you are injured. I know it can feel incredibly frustrating in moments like this. I would recommend shifting your focus from training to recovery. Put in the effort to do anything that makes your foot feel better even if that means resting, ice, and easy walks. You will miss some training but I would rather see you take one or two weeks super easy and be 100% rather than try to push through and have you have pain for months to come. Sometimes taking a full stop is the best thing you can do as hard as it is. I would add in some cycling if that doesn’t hurt, do the strength training that does hurt but also back off from the volume to give your body that energy to heal. Once you come back from injury ease back into the training don’t just jump to whatever week you think you should be at. Instead, go back a week or two from where you are now and ramp up again. Again, I know this is frustrating having dealt with injuries my whole athletic career I sympathize. Don’t worry about falling behind in your training, you can’t force yourself to heal faster. We all have to train at our own pace-if you use 15 weeks to do a 12-week program that is totally okay! I hope that helps and answers your question! Start that healing process!!!!

This is a great question-you can for sure backcountry ski on your aerobic days, use the same aerobic threshold you set earlier, and follow the time that is prescribed in Training Peaks. Don’t start adding time just because it is fun to ski ;). The total time should be car to car so don’t just account for uphill time. I hope that makes sense!

Originally we were really hoping they could both be a part of full-time coaching with us. However, Nikki just had a baby, and Karen’s guiding schedule made it impossible for them to be consistent with us. We are hoping to have them come on as guest speakers at some point this round!

Hello Emese,

Great question-so level 0 is to get you used to the movements and how to do them correctly. The Level 1 video will take you step-by-step on each exercise, and it doesn’t follow 6 sets of 10 reps but is focused on movement for a certain amount of time. The entire video is actually a little over an hour, and so, therefore, the workout time in Training Peaks is that long. I hope that answers your question!
