"I have always focused on developing a solid strength training foundation for whatever the goal and sport. Vipassana, yoga, and cross-country skiing have played a significant role in my life."

Ben’s greatest strength is his coaching history and knowledge of training systems, bringing balance with lifestyle choices and how that supports a foundation for athleticism.

Growing up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Ben’s lifestyle was built around experiencing the surrounding area’s natural beauty through endurance activities. He developed a joy for nordic skiing, backcountry skiing in the Tetons, mountain running, whitewater kayaking and rafting, mountain biking, and climbing.

Ben joined the local nordic ski program in Jackson Hole at a young age. It led him to achieve a medal at Junior Nationals and compete at the NCAA level at the Western State College in Colorado. After transferring to the University of Oregon and then studying abroad at the University of Oslo in Norway, where he explored thousands of kilometers of ski trails – he made his way back to the Tetons.

In his 20s, Ben was eager to push his fitness limits and backcountry skiing ability. Always charging hard resulted in fracturing his pelvis while skiing the Middle Teton. After the injury, bringing more balance to his body, mind, and spirit became more of a priority. He completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training course from Seven Centers Yoga Arts in Sedona, Arizona. He has completed 10-day Vipassana meditation courses twice, inspiring an active practice. He now finds joy in helping others realize their full potential through smart training and balance.

Ben began his coaching career with the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club (JHSC) in 2007, and he still coaches with the organization today. During his six-year stint as the Nordic Program Director and Head Coach, he became a Level 200 U.S. Ski and Snowboard coach and helped JHSC become a U.S. Ski and Snowboard Certified Club. His achievements include coaching a national champion and a handful of athletes who podiumed at Junior Nationals and now compete with NCAA teams.
