following with interest. pretty sure after losing any cardio i had prior to my hamstring injury i don’t have time to dedicate 10hrs of training for a weekend warrior….. who works a full time job with 2 kids in grade school….

i’m by far no expert but to me it sounds like your just have ADS. your slowing down b/c your aerobic capacity isn’t there to keep your legs going as fast, as long as your legs aren’t getting tired then it could be some muscle endurance as well.
as for training it depends on what your ultimate goal is, if it’s just get in shape/improve fitness just keep at it and it’ll come with time. one thing i’ve learned is the more training with longer sessions the faster the gains, but you have to keep track of your body. the key is can you do a work out and recover by the next day to repeat it? if you can your not over doing it.
i started training when i wasn’t working, when i started working again my time got smashed similar to having a kid (which i do have 2) i base it on how i’m feeling if i get too tired i give up training and sleep, always take care of your body. for instance just this morning i was out on my run i was so tired during it, i cut the run short went home and napped on the couch for 20min before needing to get up to lunches made and ready for work and kids for school.
i recently started waking up 30min before i normally do for my runs to get longer runs in, it’s helped but it also takes a toll depending on how i sleep. it’s all going to come down to how your baby is and your wife…… my 1st woke up every hour or 2 hrs and my wife and i took turns taking care of him…. there is no way i could have trained being that sleep deprived, worked a full time job and everything else. at times i could barely stay awake at work…..
juskojj on August 3, 2022 at 12:38 pm · in reply to: Runalyze/TP and general questions on training #69659thanks, makes sense. i’m employed now but when i 1st lost my job it was demoralizing but after some time i rather enjoyed not working and being the house husband and taking care of the kids 🙂
last ANT i did was 185, my last AeT was 155 so yeah i have ADS
Lindsay,
Thanks! I’ve maintained my AeT but I do feel like speed may have dropped at bit although at times it does seem like it comes back.I’ll have to see if I can get some more time in but that means either waking up at 430am instead of 5 or trying to get weekends in which at times can be difficult. Although I may be able to get something in the same day my wife runs if I can go before and get back before she goes and able to shower and get the kids ready 🙂
Awesome! Any chance for use Android users in the future?
dunno….. i definitely understand your question
I might be missing something but I was taking it as the ME is 10% plus enough water weight to create the slight muscle burn.
Like this but adding 10%
curious to see what others say. but to me the ME is more weight ( water weight ~8.34 lb/gal plus 10% body weight added on) all out, which should put your heart rate well above your AeT and really condition your muscles for strength and endurance vs the BW +10% on hilly terrain is conditioning your muscles and cardio by keeping your HR under your AeT but the biggest difference is on hilly terrain your working uphill and downhill for muscles vs ME is going UP which is I would think the most taxing on the muscles.
Much appreciated. Obviously the more time the better. Is there a minimum time (volume) of cardio/ base i should aim for?
Thanks! All base training in zone 1 correct?
Yes, I’ve been doing strength as well. So for ME work outs 1x a week? Or 2x a week?
Sorry what do you mean by splitting? Like ramp up base buildings volume? I’ve just been running zone 1 and 2 to increase my base and try and get within the 10%
Insurance only allowed so much PT. I found a guy named Eric Wong and precison movement. His stuff seems solid, studied under Dr. Stuart McGill and overcame some pretty major back stuff as well

your going to need a great cardio base along with muscular endurance to be able to carry those loads over terrain…… i have a friend in MT that does big game hunts and has carried 100lbs meat 7miles over 2000ft plus elevation gain/loss…..
thanks, i did it when i 1st started training. it’s been over a year now so i’ll do it again and go for 45min. i also did it at 10% incline b/c that’s the highest my treadmill would go, i do have access to a 12% treadmill now
