Hi,
I don’t know your specific plan but the plan described here at the bottom (Link) takes me around 40 minutes (week 1)
Hope this helps somehow.

Thanks guys!
Good to hear that it’s possible without a guide.
I checked the FAQs from the park service. Where I fall short is probably “Experience with winter camping in arctic type conditions”. I will talk to a couple people if they are in for a expedition in one or two years.
Thanks guys!

I would also asume something with your HR monitor. Do you put water or sonar gel on your chest strap before your exercise? Do you clean the chest strap before and after training?

To be honest, I thought the abbreviated max strength is a shorter hill sprints workout (1 set of 4 reps)?! But I had the same question a couple weeks ago.

I would double check with the AeT drift test and would use the 162 as starting HR. It’s cheap and can provide you with some confidence.

Bad news. I need surgery and it’s scheduled tmr. Will post into the injury subforum.
Hi Scott,
Thx for the advice. Yes the doc said that I should do hikes asap. What would you recommend about the targeted zone? 1 or 2?
Best regards

Puh, the last test is a though one. I think it’s inevitable that one of the coaches jumps in. Why did they not provide you an AeT number this time?
I opened the window during my last AeT test and my heartrate dropped by 5 beats. And in the Caribbean, the heat forced me to walk to stay below my AeT.
Reasons I can think off why a treadmill could be different:
– slope
– room temperature (Missing heat acclimatization)
– house dust allergy (asthma)
Can you rule out some reasons?
Hi,
What I would do:
1. Redo the test on a treadmill to rule out the course as a matter of error
2. Start with 165 for the AeT test
3. Do an AnT test to determine your real threshold to see if you have ADS

My carpenter made me copies of my ice axes. Some rubber tape around the tip and it works pretty fine.
Hi,
Do you have more information on your test results? Since zone concepts are from being standardized, I would be cautious with their recommendation. Did you get any information on where your AeT & AnT lie?

Hi Heiko,
Yesterday, I did my first Z1 Skitour. I was incredibly slow and was passed by old ladies. At the end my average HR was at the top of Z1 and 35% Z2 and 65% Z1. I did some pick-ups though.
On Sunday I did a Z2 Skitour but was still passed by many people.
Thx for your test though.

Just for a better understanding, how long were your sprints?
