Just to clarify, if I do a hike with 1600ft elevation gain and also 1600ft elevation loss at 20%BW, is the fudge factor 30?

That is, is it 10TSS for the elevation gain+loss plus 2x 10TSS for the (10+10)%BW?

10TSS for elevation gain+loss
10TSS for first 10%BW
10TSS for second 10%BW

Thanks Mark. It’s hard not to feel like a slacker when taking an extra day off, but makes sense! And, I am getting it looked at on Thu.

But, this ques got me thinking…if I ended up making this a full rest week for extra recovery, that would leave 2 remaining build weeks before the prescribed consolidation week. Assuming I was fully recovered, is 2 build weeks enough before a rest week, or is it better to repeat last week and make it a full 3 weeks before a full rest week? Hope that makes sense.

Ahh yes, the threshold value should be your ANaerobic value, which in this case is 151. There is an option within TP to go back and recalculate TSS values.

Does this imply that you want so much weight that it prevents you from going fast enough to require a high heart rate? In other words, you have no choice but to go slower because of the large weight? I ask because I, too, just tried the ME workout and had a really hard time getting below mid-Z3 despite carrying more weight than any prev workout.

There was some good discussion about that in the last Zoom call, which is recorded. But, it’s essentially a redo of weeks 10 & 11 with slightly higher volume (~10%) added (for 1 or both weeks).

Related to this question…most of my activity has been almost daily treadmill running at a volume that’s higher than the basic plan. (1) Should I stop and replace those with the plan on aerobic days, and, (2) is it ok to add some running to the strength days?
