Hi,
Same issue with the Adidas. I just cut out the cushioning. I flamed it then to seal it. Works quite good. See attached pic for details.
Cheers

I use DF Alpha and it works like a charm for me.

DadaI’m a big fan of inverted. I personally would do exactly this for exactly the reason you mentioned.
One thing: I would always keep the VO2max phase now highly polarized and the Z3 phase as pyramidal as possible.

You’re making it harder for me to decide not easier 😉
I talked to a lot of people since.
These are my thoughts:
A) Vancouver and Seattle have both very bad weather from October to March; I’m kinda spoiled from the weather in the Alps in Europe. You have snowfall and then there are pretty good days with sunshine; I don’t wanna do just tree runs since I have a mental problem when I can’t see properly; lake Tahoe offers better weather conditions, I think
B) Vancouver & Seattle are super close to the mountains which makes it very nice; in Europe, I can drive to the next mountain within 60 minutes; Bay area requires way more driving but day trips are possible; LA requires a lot of driving for ski mountaineering and you always need to stay overnight
C) In case I want to switch jobs, the Bay area offers so many opportunities; I’m not sure if this is also valid for the Seattle & Vancouver to be honest; a new job might require me to move again
Please object if any of my conclusions is wrong!!!
So, to be honest with you, atm, I’m tending towards the Bay Area.
Cheers
DadaHm, I would mix. The steeper it gets the more it becomes a muscular endurance workout.
You can see some research here: https://scientifictriathlon.com/tts215/#tab-con-20
With that big AeT/AnT gap, training below AeT should not cause overtraining. But yes try to stay below AeT and check. Maybe have a rest week and report back.
Have you introduced ME workouts lately?
Hi,
I don’t know any of the off the shelf plans, but I would always go for the most event specific training possible. From here on you can answer the question yourself ?
Hi,
What comes to my mind:
– this is quite a lot of volume in Zone 2. The more you get trained the more upper zone 2 gets no man’s land -> so watch out for overtraining
– was there anything specific between run 24 and 26? There seems to be a major structural break. Covid? What’s your AnT btw?

Dada on November 7, 2022 at 4:04 pm · in reply to: AeT differences b/t mountain running and skimo #72396Hi,
When you’re highly trained, differences should be marginal. There is some research about this.
Personally, my AeTs are different.
Just one thing, the first 2-3 tours of the season, my Skimo HR is going ballistic and it is not reliable. Give it some time, HR should drop eventually.
HRV was very helpful here.

That is actually one of the best things you can do. This pushes mitochondrial adaptions dramatically.

In my opinion, that is an awesome idea.
Kilian does pretty much all his base building during winter with skinning. Keep in mind that AeTs might probably change between sports.
