I’ve run a few marathons. Typically the longest run is 20 miles and maybe just a few of those. So the principles carry over as you don’t run 40 miles in training etc. Nothing replaces consistency missing workouts is robbing yourself on your climb day. You can do a lot more than you would expect by simply training everyday. The uphill 24 week plan plays this well there are no 20 hr days or even 8 hr days the longest workouts are 4 hrs.

Train outside or in a building stair master doesn’t train downhill muscles. You can’t make up for it. Or mix it up but also don’t shorten the training volume on the stair master if u choose to only go up just slow the pace to allow you too go the 2 hrs
Thanks that was my second question. I hate getting sick.
How long was your test before the malfunction?

I’m going guided thanks for asking. But yeah I hope to train and be able to enjoy the trip as much as I can or bleed now to enjoy later or to hopefully survive lol.

You probably are building fitness. If your in the wrong zone or you overdo it with to much hrtss. It’s assumed not to be good? I’d still like a coach to weigh in if there is value in doing huge (correct intensity) tss days suffer days that attempt to replicate a summit day. Or if the best way to build fitness is too stick to the plan with minor increases that don’t require tapers or missed workouts due to recovery.
Hi I’m in Arizona I don’t see anyone else in the desert state.

I’d look at determining the minimum amount of specific hours for whatever your goals are. I’d supplement aerobic work with non weight bearing work like cycling and swimming. Maybe zone 2 work could be uphill hiking instead of running for example.
