Mark, do you happen to have the name of the 21 day program you found? Thx.

Great to see hear about everyone’s exotic locations (i.g. Kansas!). I am based in Salt Lake City, along with my wife Dana who is also doing this training session. No Everest or Himalaya hopes for us this year. We do a lot of hiking and are mostly interested in continuing to keep up with our teenage sons that are big into skimo and mountain biking.
Will we have access to Chamfit between sessions?
Way to go, Chad! Thanks for sharing.
MARTY OSTERMILLER on June 5, 2022 at 12:42 pm · in reply to: Aerobic deficiency and updated AT test #68015Great post and response. I had a similar question.
My AeT is around 147 and my AnT as last measured a few months ago was somewhere around 168 or 14% variance (if my math is correct (AnT/AeT – 1). Based on the response above, am I correct in assuming that as I continue to build my aerobic base, I can expect that my AeT will increase to somewhere in the range of 153 or more? (168/153 – 1 = ~10%). Is it very typical for the AnT to improve as well? Thanks.
I have a Coros Vertix and like it. The best thing going for the watch is the battery life far exceeds most of the other watches. I don’t think the Coros software and app are as well developed as Garmin and Suunto.
MARTY OSTERMILLER on May 16, 2022 at 2:16 pm · in reply to: AeT threshold Test Results and Discussion #67270OK, that worked. I have a 0.44% pa:hr.. so based on this, I am assuming that I should do it again at a faster heart rate (what would you suggest)?

MARTY OSTERMILLER on May 15, 2022 at 6:24 pm · in reply to: May 2022 Introductions / Goals / Geographies #67204Wow, what an accomplished group! Fun to be included in this adventure.
My family and I live in Salt Lake City as well – Matthew/Kevin, I look forward to connecting in person to train. My cell is 385-251-0871.
I read Uphill Athlete about a year ago and it changed the way I think about training. I think I spent my whole life leading up to reading it in zones 3 and up… more and harder is better, was my approach. My current goals don’t include scaling any huge mountains like so many of you.. though my ancient history includes hiking Illimani in Bolivia and a lifetime of living actively in the mountains.
At this point, I am just trying my best to keep up with my very fit 15 and 16 year old boys – both of whom just qualified for the national skimo team.. and the older of the two is, as of May 15, on Day 6 of the Appalachian Trail (Nobo), hoping to finish by the end of August. I join them for their skimo and mountain bike practices.. and hope to remain a junior member of the FADDY group (Fit Daddies, as my boys call my group of friends). I would also love to be able to join my boys for a skimo competition or two in Europe if they are lucky enough to qualify (and they happen to have an O.G./Masters path for me to join in on the fun).

MARTY OSTERMILLER on May 15, 2022 at 6:05 pm · in reply to: AeT threshold Test Results and Discussion #67201Hi everyone, I missed the orientation zoom last week – but just had a chance to listen to it. Looking forward to meeting you all. I am from Salt Lake as well in case anyone wants to connect to workout (more precisely, we live in Sugarhouse). My number is 385-251-0871
I was hoping I could get a bit of help interpretting my drift test results on TrainingPeaks. When I look at Carl’s screenshot above, his results and measures show up quite differently than mine do. I believe I selected RUN on my watch, so I am not sure why this would be. I do not have a measure called “Pa:Hr”. It does have “Pw:Hr” and I see one called “EF”. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
