I’m looking for some input so I can fuel properly for training.

I’ve read on the site that using heart rate to determine TSS is the least accurate.

My calories burned per hour of hiking according to Garmin is extremely low compared to online hiking calorie calculators that take into account terrain and vertical gain

Do you have a sense as to the accuracy of Garmin which is mostly HR based compared to online sources?

    Thanks

I would recommend just paying attention to how you feel and fuel at regular intervals. Over time you will get a better sense of the food intake required to maintain your energy level during and after the hike.
