I’m completing the 16w Big Mountain plan in preparation for a guided ascent of Denali. My Denali climb is 19 weeks out. I will have to take a one-week ‘break’ from the plan for a weeklong mountaineering course in the Cascades. So I will end up finishing the plan two weeks prior to my climb.
Two questions on this:
1. How much time should I have between finishing my plan and my ascent? Should I time it such that my last day of training is the day before my flight up to Alaska?
2. Depending on the answer to Q1, I will need to repeat 1-2 weeks. Which weeks within the program are most appropriate to go through twice?
