Thank you all for the replies! It’s given me a lot to consider as I try to figure out how (and whether) to prepare for my upcoming event. I appreciate you all!

I’m a really big fan of block therapy for mobilizing and loosening fascia that is particularly stuck.
Hi Anne,
I am so sorry for the unimaginable loss of your son. I’m glad you have joined us here in the FUA training group! It’s a fabulous group.

Is there a way to change from rTSS to hrTSS acoss the board? I don’t know the difference, so I’ll look it up, but if you have any additional info to share that would be wonderful.
Question about this – I just changed my rTSS to hrTSS to one of the aerobic workouts and my hrTSS was higher. The “Planned TSS” was 30 and my completed hrTSS was 41 so it turned my workout yellow (b/c the TSS was too high).
On the Training Peaks theme….if we aren’t planning to use the run/walk intervals, should we delete them from our training plan? I do run/walk but I follow my HR, not the planned intervals.
Thank you! I wasn’t sure if the XC skiing suggestion was more for skate or classic. I will give it a go! I appreciate the reply. Have a great weekend!
Some questions that come to mind that I’m sure you will address but I’m jotting them down here anyway.
I did the HR Drift test today and my HR drift was 7.5%. How many BPM should we subtract from our starting HR if our drift is more than 5%?
I’m not sure how much I can trust my data b/c my HR monitor wasn’t connected for the first 34 minutes (it was reading wrist data!) but it looks ok to me, so I think maybe it’s ok?
Since the HR fluctuates a few BPM even in the beginning of the test, how do we determine which HR we really “began” at? Maybe an average of the first 5-10 minutes?
How often should we re-test?
Hello all! My name is Jenna, I live in Montana. I have 4 kids and similarly to Meredyth I focused on CrossFit style training from about 2008-2020 (and my kids were born in 2010-2018) so the combination of those things has left me aerobically deficient! Prior to 2008 I was a cross-country runner, distance road cyclist, and did a couple of Ironmans. After reading the UpHill Athlete book it makes so much sense why my aerobic fitness has felt like a struggle the last few years! I am training for The Rut 28k mountain run in 2022 though my main goal is to just get back to a sustainable level of fitness so I can ski, bike, run, hike, and play in the mountains. I know I’d like to do some big mountain hikes someday, and I want to get into SkiMo because it seems like a winter sport I could really love! I’m glad to be here!
