30-40g in total? If so, my guess is that you are running out of glycogen. Try double or tripple the amount of carbs pr hour, and you will most likely see huge improvement. Last race I did (40k, 3300 m of elev gain, 5hr 30min), I consumed 95g pr hour, and still lost climbing speed last climb, not being able to push up in Z3 HR.
How much carbs you are able to tolerate, is highly trainable. 2-3 yr ago I could only do 40-50g pr hour, now I can do up to 110g. And it makes a huge, huge difference. Night and day difference. Both in preformance and recovery.Sorry for the bad english.
VJ is by far the best running shoe for scrambling, ridges, east climbing and skyrunning when it comes to grip. For shorter routes, if you dont have very wider feet, go for VJ XTRM. For longer days go for VJ Maxx.
I think I have tried every outsole compound available. There is nothing like VJ except climbing shoes
ChristianB on March 5, 2021 at 10:36 am · in reply to: Planning uphill race – Which program suits better? #51601Its a requirement to have a backpack that weight 2,5kg when you crosses the finishline. What you put in your backpack is not to important. Its a really stupid rule that is far to common in norwegian uphill races.
This race is very runnable. Easy singletrack, stairs and some boulderfields at the top. Winning time is around 1.10-1.15.

My goals/aims are to 1. have as much fun in the mountains as possible 2. Be able to competitive in both national and international mountain ultras. 2. Be able to not suck at more speedy runnable short (20-30k) mountain races.
At the moment im competitve at a national level on technical 50k races with as much vert as possible. I train around 800hr and climb about 350k meters in training. I train mostly of just going up and down mountains at low intensity.
I do not like to train indoors, but I can muster up 3 months of strength training.

I only compete in running, or that’s the only thing that has a priority. I might do some skimo races as training.
I just wonder if it’s to early to start those ME sessions in January
