I’m pretty sure it’s a maximum of 40% volume for the long run. There’s a fair amount of flexibility around it as mileage is increased. It’s more to ensure mileage is spread out across the week to encourage consistency.
In plans from book, the volume on day 7 in Base, Build up and even part of Specific period is mentioned as 40% of weekly total. This is really huge number if the total volume is already over 100km. Do I understand this correctly? After exceeding the threshold of 100 km of weekly mileage, the Sunday run will be 40 km long and continue to increase? Isn’t there a time threshold where such training is no longer profitable?
