I could see that she replied, but never found it though 🙂
thank you Rebecca for this 🙂

Hi,
I can’t comment about lactate test or results, but there is no reason for your AeT to be less or equal than 160 BPM. I mean it could be higher depending on your training backgroundGuillaumeM on May 13, 2021 at 12:26 pm · in reply to: Which is the correct AnT? Average HR on TP or email from TP? #53984yeah,
just to be clear, let me correct
you can go as hard as you can
as long as you are able to maintain the pace for 30 min at least. And by the end of the test, you are supposed to be quite exhausted I’d say.
AS for hiking uphill and loaded for Ant test, I prefer that someone else answers that question as I am not sure about it.GuillaumeM on May 13, 2021 at 8:39 am · in reply to: Which is the correct AnT? Average HR on TP or email from TP? #53974Hi Phil,
“Pace yourself so that you don’t blow up 5 minutes into the test.”
So I’d say, dont go “as hard as you can” as you will blow up I guess, and
it is also my understanding that this has to be done for at least 30 minutes as
your AnT is an average of your BPM during that timelapse.
So the hill near by is not the appropriate place to perform the test.Cheers
GuillaumeM on May 10, 2021 at 9:36 am · in reply to: AeT run history, and next threshold advice needed #53843Hi,
this will be my last request as I think I have reached a good AeT threshold.
According to the AeT calculator linked in this website, there’s a 2,6% drift.
Could anyone tell me what they say on Training peaks ?
(elevation is completely wrong in my TP. Course was flat, 70 feet elevation gain at most)
What would you advise me as AeT threshold ? My last AnT test was 171 as a threshold, so I’d say I can now switch to more Z1 running, and integrate Z3 workouts.http://tpks.ws/7KI3W5MMNKSR5TI4FEYTRMETSU
One thing I want to add is that drift test + warm up + warm down (1H30) was longer than I usually run, as most of my run are 45 to 60 minutes. So After the run, legs felt tired and a bit sore. We’ll see that tomorrow, because I know that AeT run should feel like an every day workout and feel rested the day after.
Cheers
Guillaume
Hi Kamal,
well at least your body fat went 3% down, which shows that it’s working, and it’s not weird that you take bodyweight if you train more and thus making your muscles grow.
Still, I have been seeing a registered dietitian for a while, and I just throw in in that thread for that reason : if you have a chance to go and see one, this will be of a great help.
I wanted to do my own diet, but in the end, I was stuck. It seems easy at first look, but, at least on my side, the fact that she (the doctor) gave me a diet did really make it. Not only will the dietitian give you a diet according to your needs, but he/she will find out what exactly will be your needs to lose weight without compromising your training.
On my side, I’d say that the process is slow, but body fat is dropping, while muscle are growing. I am happy with that. I eat less, of course, obviously on the carb side, which I was unable to handle. I think I eat more protein too.
Well that’s it !
Cheers
GuillaumeGuillaumeM on May 1, 2021 at 1:14 pm · in reply to: How long before you noticed progress on your aerobic base/AeT? #53573Hi Lorin,
I did the same conclusion last year about me being eligible to ADS.
Anyway. When I started last year (May), I too used MAF – 5 bpm because I couldn’t do any drift test. Turns out it was a very slow pace too, indeed. I bet some people were walking faster than I was “running”. But I put my mindset as : ok I am slow but that’s for the best for the future.
So I can tell you because I just checked out that I too was at a pace of 15min/mile. I did a new test after 4 month with a real drift test. Turns out my AeT was Higher and my pace increased.
Last march, my last AeT Drift Test, I run at 10:50min/mile. It is what it is. I think it’s not fast, but, it’s faster than it was last may. And my AeT is now 158 and I started at 135. I did an AeT Test every other months (after the first 4 month). Just to check out and AeT would increase each time.
On my side I got rid of ADS because my AnT is at 171. I will do a new test within two weeks to check out my AeT and be sure of it so that I can now switch to other types of workouts.
So… all of this to say : yeah, it can be slow, yeah it’s frustrating, but in the “long” run, you’ll enjoy it I guess. I find it fun to see myself improving after a few weeks.
I don’t think there is a “normal” running pace… I have got a friend who’s been running for 25 years, and his normal pace is way faster than mine.
I started running 4 years ago, but the first 2 years I was unaware of ADS. So I ran fast at high BPM. Now, I ran almost as fast but within my aerobic capacity. And it feels easy.
Take your time.GuillaumeM on March 13, 2021 at 4:01 pm · in reply to: AeT run history, and next threshold advice needed #51996Hi Rachel !
Thanks for your input. 🙂
I guess I have got a new AeT Threshold then which is good as this means I got rid of ADS. I am kind of happy with that after 10 month of regular work 🙂GuillaumeM on March 13, 2021 at 8:55 am · in reply to: AeT run history, and next threshold advice needed #51984Hi !
So I just did a drift test yesterday.
Using AeT Calculator from this website, I’ve got a .4% drift,
Can anyone check this out using TP as I don’t have a premium account,
so to have comparison.
I ran in a flat area but with lots of buildings around. That could explain some
pace spikes. Again, feet gain is horribly wrong looking at it on TP.
During the whole run, garmin app says that my whole meters gain is 54 meters.
here’s the link :

allure = pace
altitude is in meters, pace in min/km
cardiac frequency looks a bit bumpy on Garmin.cheers

thanks again for your answer.
I just did a new drift test today and after 15 minutes warm-up, I stayed in one park which is flat. no access to track anyway, everything is closed due to lockdowns here in Santiago.
Just want to point out that the altitude gain in my TP link is wrong and irrelevant.
You’ll find some spikes again, and I will link the Garmin altitude correction as previously done.
Website’s AeT Calculator says that there’s almost no drift (-0,4%), but I am curious about that.
Thanks a lot.http://tpks.ws/ZKLMSDIKHI3VJTI4FEYTRMETSU

thank you for your answer.
The thing is that the loss/gain altitude is irrelevant on my TP records… I don’t know exactly why, but it Looks like there is an altitude correction available only for TP premium too. This correction is available on my Garmin account though;
Actually, my gain/loss in these 2 runs is barely the same, around 47m in total.
I’ll link the gain/loss profile from Garmin.
Let me know if this is too much, but on my side it just feels flat.Cheers,
Guillaume

It looks like it works that way… Maybe it doesn’t work when you want to create a new topic…
