I am wondering what, if any, mental training the community incorporates. Besides the standard visualization of routes and moves, what do you do to train your head? I remember reading about Ueli Steck practicing autogenic training and Twight talking about different relaxation techniques in his book. Also, have you noticed a difference in ability/decision making since incorporating brain training?

I haven’t done any, but I’ve been wondering about it lately.

For sport climbing projects, I find writing down the beta in two columns (left, right) helps a lot. Then I write down the moves according to hands and feet per column. It’s amazing how much detail there is in movement beta. If I write it down, I can learn the route faster.
