Hi Stephanie and Mark,
I once recommended a training vest to train empathy. My daughter played the youngest daughter in a high school performance of Fiddler on the Roof. The student playing the father of three grown daughters was a good singer and actor but he moved like an athletic 18 year-old. I bought a weight vest for him to rehearse in to practice feeling the weight of age and of the world. He did not use it and got better in rehearsals anyway, perhaps incorporating that weight mentally.
Betraying my age again, I’m finding “threads” & “sticky threads” confusing, but maybe starting to stick with practice. I’ve always thought of threads as what each of us has in the hands of the Greek goddesses of fate, the Three Fates, “Clotho (Spinner), Lachesis (Allotter), and Atropos (Inflexible). Clotho spun the “thread” of human fate, Lachesis dispensed it, and Atropos cut the thread (thus determining the individual’s moment of death).”
I’m about to look for or start a “technical thread” (?) to ask what to try next to get my watch data into TP; rebooting computer, cell-phone, and watch did not do the trick. Monday’s data and some old workouts show up as runs in TP, but not yesterday’s or today’s.

Great to see you again Mark & Steve & to meet you Pedro.
I’m trying to use the forum as you suggested on today’s call.
“Community” in the group description is what tipped me over edge of uncertainty to sign up for this group. Steve’s comments at the end were inspiring, as were the presence of Mark & Steve, esp. in context of having listened to Steve’s AAC “legacy” podcast recently. “We’re engaged in mountain sports because we’re trying to figure out who we are … lifelong effort … with mountains as our chosen yardstick.” Yardstick of the figuring out psycho-socially as well as physically, bio-psycho-social yardstick. Yes, this description fits me well, though I’d add a few other values, perhaps with other contexts, to “yardstick.”
I signed into TP this afternoon, where my Garmin-TP connection was good when I worked w you before with same watch–it looks like some time is needed for TP to upgrade to Premium to link again to Garmin.
I selected “intermediate,” level program, optimistically thinking the time/wk estimates are right for me and that I’ll be able to adjust intensities within the time bounds. It’s been some time since I trained w Mark but I’ve been climbing and exercising a few times/wk since. I’ll do a practice drift test today on elliptical trainer, based on my previous AT HR of 128.
1) Will HR data collected before TP upgrade to premium show up in TP?
2) Does choice of intermediate level look reasonable?
3) Is this forum the right place to describe personal training objectives?
4) Do you recommend sharing bio-sketches here?
