Modified Functional Runner workout

    Is there any harm in adding some upper body exercises (thinking specifically pull-ups and pushups) to the functional runner workout? I get that adding too much isn’t good, but as I am a climber first, runner second it would be great to keep my pulling muscles in shape.

    nothing wrong with that idea at all. In fact you should feel free to adjust the lower body exercises now that you are familiar with them. There is nothing magical about that routine. It works and will do what it is designed to do but so will other ideas.

    Modify, replace and you will learn.
