Bill, have you tried the UA gym-based (at home) ME program? https://uphillathlete.com/strength-training/at-home-muscular-endurance-workout-with-progression/
ME training without carrying a pack?

I developed adhesive capsulitis in my right shoulder about five months ago. It took a couple of trys to find a doc whose answer was not, “i will give you a cortisone injection but you’ll just have to live with it because you are old” but I did find that doc. After a surgical procedure, I am doing PT and making good, if slow, progress. One of the limitations: I can’t bear weight on my should for at least another month, which means I can’t do muscular endurance training that involves wearing a heavy pack.
What can I do instead? I mean I can do box steps or steep incline hikes without a pack, which is better than doing nothing at all. Are there any other options?
Thanks,
Bill
