Hello. I’ve been bumping up my runs to determine my Aet via HR drift. 46 yo female runner. Today I ran avg pace 10:08/mi, HR avg 158. Drift PaHR 0.91%. In the heat.

    Do I keep bumping? Ty!!!

Holly, how does the effort feel at HR 158 for 60 mins? On a scale from 1 (recovery) to 10 (5-second effort), what would you rate it?

Hello! I’d say a 3 out of 10? I can breathe through my nose and converse easily. I feel good. Also my HR hits 190 on a tempo effort.

    Hi Holly,
I’m interested to know how you got on with this. Did you find a HR for 5% drift in the end?
I’m also a 46 yo runner and about to try my first AeT HR drift test and not sure what HR to target. I recently ran my first road marathon (downhill for 40 mins, then very flat) at 165bpm average and with 1.3% drift. Just looking at the flat section where my pace was very stable, PA:HR was -0.2% over 2hr50.Seems like AeT must be higher than 165…
