Transferring base runs to a indoor bike

    We’ve been having horrible air quality from wildfire smoke at our house which with my asthma I really can’t run in safely….and with COVID I don’t have access to a treadmill to replace my outdoor runs with, but I do have an indoor cycle setup.

    I’m currently on the base building (week 3) of the marathon training plan. Is it possible to replace my runs for a bit on my bike until the smoke clears?

    Thanks!

    Erica;

    It is not only possible but preferable. Training in smoke has potential for long term health problems. Better to do compromised biking in clean air than to trash your lungs. Biking is not a great substitute for running but it you case it is the only alternative unless you can get on a treadmill.
