Proprioception/Balance after injury

I’ve just had my ankle reconstructed and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to build strength and proprioception back up.

The physio has suggested using balance boards but I’m hoping someone may suggest something a little more focused on mountain running.

    Thanks

I agree with your PT. At this early stage you need to focus on regaining mobility and function in your ankle not rushing back to running specific drills or strength. You need to develop basic levels of proprioception and range of motion before increasing load. The balance board of similar things like a Bosu ball can help you move through this rehab stage faster and with less risk. Your PT will have you progress as he sees improvement.
