Unless you’re using a session for fasted training, there’s no reason not to eat. It will vary per person, but 20-25g per hour seems reasonable if it works for you.
Looking for some advice for longish hikes

Hello,
I think I’ve confused myself by over researching.
I’m trying to figure out if I need to eat every hour while on a longish hike.
I used to crash on long hikes but I have come to understand that I was crashing because I was working above well above actually my AeT
For my short Z1/2 training sessions I either do fasted or after my standard breakfast
It’s my longer hikes that I’m confused as to what to do. I use the uphill portion of the hike for training and work at AeT to AeT-10. It’s generally between 3 and 4 hours (non stop) with an elevation gain between 3000-4000 feet.
I have been eating about 20-25 grams of carbs per hour. My question is should I even be eating and if so what would your recommendation be?
Thanks
