Best Plan for 14ers

I am looking for some advice as I am torn between the Mountain Running and the Mountaineering Plans.

My goal is to train for Colorado 14ers over the winter, possibly some less technical ascents, but these would still be more hiking than climbing. Then start again in the spring when conditions permit with the more technical climbs.

I have an athletic history of running/ultra running, but the last 4-5 years have been spent riding bikes. So while my aerobic fitness is pretty good it’s going to be a bit of a shock going back to weight-bearing workouts. I live in the Colorado frontage and I have access to some good hills.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

I don’t know any of the off the shelf plans, but I would always go for the most event specific training possible. From here on you can answer the question yourself ?
