I successfully used the 24-week expeditionary training plan to train for and summit Everest and Lhotse last summer. This plan was essential to my training and gave me the reserve fitness to be able to accommodate weather changes and other unexpected expeditionary challenges.

I completed the 24 Week Expeditionary [Mountaineering] Training Plan in 2021 in preparation for a Denali West Buttress expedition. I'm pleased to say that I was successfully able to summit Denali, and throughout the whole expedition I felt strong with big loads and at altitude and I had more in the tank if needed. The mantra of "Train hard, fight easy" certainly applies, and I will absolutely use this program again for other expeditions.

I loved that the training plan began with stability and strength assessments, as well as a method to establish my heart rate zones. The plan was well structured, and clearly a lot of thought was put into the content based on the comments for each day. The muscular endurance workouts were incredible; my legs have never felt so sore and these workouts really make the difference!
