    Hey all!

I am curious about people’s opinions, thoughts, and references to research on the use of beet juice/increasing nitric oxide for acclimatization and performance at high altitude.

Currently I am researching various long term adaptations among various high altitude populations for college work, and it seems, in part, that Tibetan/Sherpa populations perform better by have a much higher (10X higher) amount of nitric oxide in their system. I’ve heard of using beet juice to increase nitric oxide for endurance sports (esp. within the cycling community) and am curious what information is out there about benefits of it for high altitude mountaineering.

    Cheers,
    ~PWebb
