My AeT is 141, yet my pace even on flat ground to stay below this threshold is like 13-14min/mile which is abysmally slow. I am 8 weeks into a transition period and I am about to embark on the intro to ultra’s base training period. Is this slow pace a sign of a lack of strength? Is there something I should add/modify to get my pace higher? I am committed to slow improvement but I am curious what kind of pace improvements might come by the end of summer to temper my expectations? Thanks!
