    Hi all,

Does anyone has first-hand experience on either of these routes and could pass along some intel?

In particular, I am interested in an honest assessment of the objective/overhead hazards on those two routes. Risk appetite is an individual thing, but Liberty Ridge strikes me as a route where you are testing luck as well as your own abilities. Team speed, single push vs. overnight, time of year, weather, route conditions etc all play a part, obviously. What’s your assessment of the route?

Regarding Ptarmigan Ridge, is it generally any safer due to terrain and overhead exposure. I don’t trust my map/photo reading skills enough to make a reliable assessment. It looks less exposed than Liberty, but I’d love to hear from someone who has been there and can assess more accurately.

    Thanks in advance.

I did both, and I do think that Ptarmigan Ridge is a safer route. At the same time, Liberty Ridge is harder and arguably, more interesting.
