Best/most effective way to extend training

    I am doing the 24 week mountaineering plan. However, when I finish I still have 12 weeks before I depart. I am going on a highish altitude (16,000 – 17,000 ft) trek. No climbing or mountaineering, just hiking.

    How do I extend the program the most effective way for my objective.

    With that much time you should redo the last 12 weeks of the plan starting with week 13.
